What to expect:

  • Fully responsible for profit / loss ratio for Diversified products, by on-going to validate and re-assess cost and revenue structure meeting DEG target
  • Supervises, manages and develops supplier base with Dole offices and 3rd Party suppliers, assures results to sustain business-success medium-to-long-term
  • Handles and optimizes Cost Chain by product, origin and port of arrival
  • Responsible for procurement forecasting by SKU in collaboration with Sales (Actual vs. Estimate vs. Budget)
  • Anticipates customer needs and develops sales strategies to capitalize on opportunities
  • Drives preseason preparation by supplier, product and season (Business Info, Master data, Fruits Specs, Logistics, Packaging etc.) in collaboration with respective departments
  • Controls and manages retail programs in close collaboration with Sales
  • Watches over stock levels, MRL’s specs and fruit specs in the respective ports (incl. sales of suspect fruit or repacking) guaranteeing timely sales and therewith best possible returns for Dole and production
  • Steers sourcing locally when needed
  • Collects and provides relevant information about market info (prices, volumes, trends) and shares with Sales Force
  • Responsible for Claim Management - settlement of claims of goods according to Dole claim procedure to be on-going and accurate reported back to production
  • Continuous monitoring of AP’s (Advances, Final Payments, Pre-season loans) according to agreed term of payment in collaboration with Product Service
  • Manages liquidation in time with suppliers and track-keeping of revenues, margins and costs by supplier
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control Product Management (PM) programs

Required skills:

  • University degree in Business Administration or comparable education with a focus on PM
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in PM preferably in selling perishable products
  • Leadership skills and experience to motivate and guide the team to find appropriate solutions to problems
  • Experienced in Portfolio Management and Product Life Cycle Management
  • Good understanding of business, financials, product /services, the market and the needs / challenges of assigned accounts
  • Breadth sales expertise within a specialized product, service or account type
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Builds strong relationships with clients and external actors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task, time management and organizational skills
  • Engaged, strong willingness and able to work under strict deadlines and pressure
  • Fluent in English and preferably good ability to speak and write in Spanish as well
  • Excellent knowledge of all standard Windows and MS Office applications
